NATCHEZ – Natchezian La’Tarsha Blanton moved 21 years ago but returned to open her business called Loaded Flower. It is a leading CBD product dispensary according to its website. Loaded Flower celebrates its grand opening Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

She graduated in 1998 from Natchez High. She graduated with a business administration degree and initially opened the store in Houston. She brought the store to Natchez because she missed her family and wanted to give Natchez something different.

“The cannabis industry was opening up and I learned a lot about it,” said Blanton. “I felt it might have an influence in Mississippi. I started learning it in 2014. Mississippi has one of the worst health statistics in the country. I wanted to educate the community on what CBD is.

CBD is a cannabis product made from hemp. It should have a THC level of 0.3% or less. Selling CBD products is legal, just like growing hemp. Blanton said she had a license to grow hemp and was working on a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.

Additionally, Loaded Flower is an authorized distributor of Total Life Changes, a Fortune 500 company. Products include vitamins, weight loss supplements, coffees, essential oils, and skin care products. They will also be selling Herbalife products and loaded fitness products.

Located at 319 MLK Street, the clinic will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday, it will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Near the Bella Rouge Health Care Clinic, Loaded Flower has served as a source of functional medicine through Bella Rouge Health Care for the past year.

Blanton’s entrepreneurial background includes the CELEB Glam Studio, The Vault and Krab Queenz Seafood Original brands in Baton Rouge.
Her goal for the business is to collaborate with other business owners, be more hands-on with junior high school students, and resume the “Fitness on the Bluff” program, she said.

“I’m excited about this,” Blanton said. “I also want to get clinical certifications in mental health. “
