On Friday, November 26 at around 8:20 p.m., deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on South Lincoln Road in the town of Escanaba. The suspect vehicle did not yield and a chase ensued. While chasing the vehicle, the front passenger began throwing objects out the window in an attempt to deactivate the pursuing vehicles. The pursuit entered Menominee County where officers successfully deployed “Stop Sticks”. The driver of the vehicle continued to drive south on 3 tires upon entering the town of Menominee. The chase then began on the Interstate Bridge where the driver lost control and crashed. Both the driver and the passenger were taken into police custody. The driver is a 23 year old male from Green Bay and the passenger is an 18 year old female from Green Bay. The driver is charged with Flight and Escape, Possession of Methamphetamine, among other counts. The 18-year-old passenger is charged with 2 counts of obstructing justice and possession of methamphetamine. Both subjects are currently housed at the Delta County Correctional Facility. The Delta County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department, Menominee Town Police, and Michigan State Police.
