The government has stepped up its efforts to promote AYUSH medicines – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the country’s first-ever AYUSH Global Investment and Innovation Summit being held in Gujarat. The three-day summit aims to attract long-term strategic investments and promote the use of traditional medicines.
India will soon introduce the AYUSH brand, which will give authenticity to the country’s quality AYUSH products. The mark will be awarded to products checked using the latest technology. This will give people around the world confidence that they are buying quality AYUSH products, Modi said. “Traditional medicine has helped increase tourism in Kerala. This power is all over India, in every corner of India. ‘Heal in India’ can become a big brand in this decade. Wellness Centers based on Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, etc., can be very popular,” the Prime Minister said. He also announced that a special visa category will soon be created for those who wish to visit the country to benefit AYUSH therapies.
AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the growth of this industry means nature. “Going to the cultivation of herbs and the cultivation of medicinal plants means that you preserve nature, you put nature first. Once you put nature first, ecology and the environment must always be protected.”
