Ian Thorpe’s ex-boyfriend Ryan Channing has died of a prescription drug overdose, Indonesian police say.
The model and skincare entrepreneur died on May 8 after collapsing in a villa in Bali while on vacation with his family.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal Channing was treated at BIMC Hospital in Kuta for a ‘prescription drug overdose’.
He was rushed to hospital on May 6 after fainting and spent two days in the intensive care unit before dying, aged 32.
Channing’s body was due to arrive in Perth on Friday on a repatriation flight from Indonesia.
His funeral is expected to take place in Perth next week.

Channing’s mother, Joy, who was by his bedside for his final two days, released a statement this week thanking his friends for their support.
“Thank you all for the overwhelming love and support you have shown us through this tragic time in our lives,” she posted on Instagram.
“We are still in Bali but hope to be able to return home (sic) soon.”
Channing’s skincare line, The Blaq Group, released a statement shortly after his death, noting that he was battling health issues.
Channing’s sister Charis said coming to terms with his death was “the hardest thing” her family has ever had to do.
Kuta police were not treating Channing’s death as suspicious and no report had been filed – common practice given that he died in hospital.

Channing was Ian Thorpe’s first long-term boyfriend after coming out publicly and the pair were in an on-again-off-again relationship for four years until they finally split in 2019.
The former Olympic swimmer told Daily Mail Australia his thoughts are with Channing’s family. He asked for privacy as he cried.
The model split his time between Bali, Australia and the United States on business, but flew to Bali two weeks before his death to meet his parents and sister.
Earlier, the couple attended a makeshift memorial at a restaurant in Kuta.
“Ryan lived his life to the fullest,” Ms Channing said in a tribute to her son.
“Constantly surrounded by excitement and creativity, with an undeniable drive to seek perfection in everything.

“Being part of Ryan’s world and being swept up in his adventures and triumphs has been a privilege for all of us.
“We will need time to figure out how we will navigate the rest of our lives without his physical presence around us.”
Mr and Mrs Channing were pictured at Mano Beach House surrounded by eight close friends for a dinner in remembrance of the 32-year-old.
‘#ryanchanningmemorial,’ a friend wrote on the post.
A second tribute also took place on the sands of Kuta Beach, where lanterns were lit and friends held a banner with Channing’s face.
“We love you – Ryan Matthew Channing,” the banner read.

His shock death was announced on Instagram on Wednesday by his younger brother Jake.
“Seeing that the news headlines beat my entire family to post about this unfortunate time in our lives, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that my brother Ryan recently passed away on Sunday May 8th at 32 years,” Jake wrote. .
“As we search for answers and try to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss of my beautiful big brother, we ask for your prayers, support and privacy, he will always be loved, never forgotten and always young.
‘To my big brother, I love you, I will see you one day soon you will be missed more than you think.’
